James is responsible for developing our strategy, and coordinating funding bids. Prior to co-founding Hy-Met James worked in a range of university research development roles building partnerships, project teams and securing research funding. The skills he developed in these roles were later put to use in the founding the University of Warwick’s Institute for Global Sustainable Development. Working with world leading academics, James became increasingly interested in sustainable development, a passion he brings to his role here at Hy-Met.
Accomplished entrepreneur, passionate about fostering innovation in tech-businesses. Held key roles in both start-ups & corporate spin-outs, building teams that bring disruptive technology to the marketplace.
15+ years experience in ultrasonic sensing and simulation, with core interests in extending ultrasonic sensing capabilities using AI and advanced sensors.
Chelsey is responsible for all finance and administrative activities of the company, including tax strategy. Prior to co-founding Hy-Met Chelsey worked as a UK auditor, Business Accountant and Financial Controller, qualifying as a chartered accountant in 2015 and joining the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Chelsey later worked for a consultancy and digital start up and moved into manufacturing in 2018 where she completed her MBA and developed a passion for sustainability.
Dennis graduated from the University of Glasgow in BSc Aeronautical Engineering and currently pursuing an EngD programme at Fuse CDT (University of Strathclyde, Scotland). Since June 2021, he is leading the novel domestic meter core design for Hy-Met, under the academic supervision of Dr. Richard O’Leary.
